Mr. Pashupati Dev Pandey, President of the Garment Association Nepal (GAN), participated in the National Workshop on Trade Promotion Using Digital Tools for Export Product Requirement Information (ePing) organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA).
Addressing the program, Mr. Pandey stated that Nepal’s graduation from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category is a moment of achievement and happiness for the country. However, he emphasized that graduation will also present challenges for export-oriented industries, including the readymade garment sector, particularly in maintaining and expanding export markets.
Mr. Pandey expressed his confidence that the information and knowledge shared during the workshop would be useful for enhancing the export capacity and competitiveness of Nepali industries. He highlighted the importance of effectively utilizing digital tools and timely access to information on export product requirements to help Nepali exporters comply with international market requirements.
The workshop provided an important platform for stakeholders to learn about ePing and other digital tools for accessing information on technical regulations, standards, and product requirements in international markets.
GAN’s participation reflects its continued efforts to enhance the capacity of Nepal’s readymade garment industry, improve access to international market information, and support exporters in meeting evolving global trade requirements, particularly in the context of Nepal’s LDC graduation.
