On 6 Bhadra 2082 (August 22, 2025), a Policy Dialogue on the theme “Labour Matters: Decent Work in Nepal’s Garment and Textile Supply Chain in the Context of LDC Graduation” was jointly organized by the Garment Association Nepal (GAN) and SAWTEE.
On the occasion, Mr. Pashupati Dev Pandey, President of the Association, remarked that since the garment and textile sector is labour-intensive, the conclusions drawn from this program would be helpful in policy formulation following Nepal’s LDC graduation.
The program was chaired by former Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Mr. Kewal Prasad Bhandari, and featured a presentation by Mr. Prajwal Joshi from SAWTEE.
The event was attended by the Second Vice President Mr. Bhupendra Kumar Basnet, along with representatives from the Government of Nepal, the private sector, and various labour organizations.
