Meeting with the officials of the US Embassy in Kathmandu at Opium Cafe, Durbarmarg was held on 20 Poush 2080. The President and Executive Committee, including members from GAN, attended the meeting. Mr Darin Christensen, Economic and Commercial Officer and Ms Laura Simkiss, Economic Associate from the US Embassy, joined the meeting. The meeting discussed current problems and issues faced by garment industries.
President Pashupati Dev Pandey highlighted some burning issues to be addressed in the upcoming extension and amendment of Nepal Trade Preference Program in 2025. He also handed over a formal letter on the subject to Mr. Christensen. Both officials from the Embassy listened to the concern and assured to coordinate this matter with the concerned agencies of the US government.
