Mr. Pashupati Dev Pandey, President of the Garment Association Nepal (GAN), participated in a consultation program organized by the Trade and Export Promotion Centre (TEPC) regarding the formulation of its annual program for Fiscal Year 2082/83.
During the program, Mr. Pandey suggested that the Government of Nepal should allocate one percent of the country’s total export value as a dedicated budget for export promotion activities while formulating the national budget.
Highlighting the importance of strengthening Nepal’s export sector, Mr. Pandey emphasized the need for greater government–private sector collaboration to promote the export of readymade garments and other exportable products.
He noted that adequate resources and coordinated efforts are essential to improve Nepal’s export competitiveness, explore new international markets, strengthen market access, and create sustainable opportunities for Nepali exporters.
Mr. Pandey also stressed the importance of developing effective export promotion programs based on the actual needs of exporters and strengthening institutional support to enhance Nepal’s presence in international markets.
The consultation provided an important platform for stakeholders to exchange views and recommendations for making the annual export promotion programs more effective, practical, and results-oriented.
